A clip launcher for
the pad grid you own.

Sixty-four pads, eight instrument columns, eight scenes. Launch clips from the screen or a MIDI pad controller, fill empty pads with new clips on your Mac or iPad, then record the scenes you play into an arrangement.

Why This Exists

Performance tools
should perform locally.

Set-ready software runs at the venue, on the plane, in the basement, anywhere. OhmsGrid works the way a clip launcher should: press a pad and the clip comes in on the next bar. No buffering, no sign-in check, no “you're offline” modal.

Plays on first open

A beat before anything downloads.

Six demo pads are loaded the first time you open OhmsGrid. Tap scene 01, then 02 and 03, and the song builds. Skip the clip-generation download and the demo project, audio import, mixing, arranging and export all still work.

Privacy-preserving

No telemetry. No analytics. No sign-in.

Projects, imported audio and the clips you make stay on your Mac or iPad, unless you turn on Selected Project Sharing on Mac: it gives the MCP client you configure read-only names and music settings for the projects you pick, and that client may forward them under its own terms. There is no account and no ads, and Silo receives none of it. Clip generation runs on the device too, after a one-time download you approve, and that download is the app's only internet traffic.

Hardware in the loop

Your pad grid is the instrument.

Plug in a pad controller and OhmsGrid maps its pads to the grid and paints each clip's state on the pad lights. The Controller panel in the Inspector names the connected device and, once you pick an LED output, mirrors the lights OhmsGrid sends to it.

Grid Model

Eight columns,
eight scenes.

Columns are instruments. Rows are scenes. Each pad holds one clip: a demo loop, audio you import, or a new clip written on your device. Launch a single pad, or fire a whole row and every clip in it starts together, quantized to the bar, the half bar or the beat. Need stems from a finished song first? Split it in Ohm Split, then load the parts onto pads on your Mac like any other audio file.

Built like hardware,
priced like software.

Plug in a pad grid.
Watch it light up.

OhmsGrid maps a connected controller's pads to the grid and shows every clip's state on the pad lights. Profiles are included for Novation Launchpad X, Launchpad Mini MK3 and Launchpad Pro MK3, Ableton Push 2 and Push 3, and Akai APC mini mk2 and APC40 mkII. The profiles have not yet been checked on physical hardware, so lights or buttons may differ on your unit. Other note-based grids can launch clips through a generic 8×8 layout you turn on in MIDI settings, without pad lights.

built for pad grids

Take the grid
into your DAW.

OhmsGrid includes an Audio Unit instrument. Loaded clips sync to it, and it plays each pad from a MIDI note inside an AUv3 host such as Logic Pro, GarageBand or AUM, stretched to the host's tempo. Sketch the set on the grid, then trigger the same clips from a MIDI track in your host.

pads inside your host

Empty pads,
filled to your project.

Tap an empty pad and OhmsGrid writes a new clip in the project's key and tempo, sized for that column's instrument. Autofill works through every empty pad in one pass and can be cancelled at any point. Generation runs on your own device after a one-time download you approve: about 10.1 GB for the Mac engine on macOS 15 or later, or 6.0 GB for the iPad engine on an iPad with at least 12 GB of memory. Each download is checked before first use.

8 × 8 clip launcher.

Eight columns are eight instruments: drums, bass, lead, melody, pad, FX, vocal and percussion. Every row is a scene. Launch one clip or a whole row, quantized to the bar, the half bar or the beat. Each column plays one clip at a time.

The Inspector shows which pad controller is connected and which profile drives it. With an LED output chosen, it mirrors the pad lights OhmsGrid sends, plus the scene lights on profiles that map scene buttons.

Questions.
