Answer vendor security questionnaires from your own policies. Each draft quotes the passage it came from, and a question your evidence cannot support is flagged, not guessed.

1. Import the questionnaire
Bring in a CSV or TSV saved from a spreadsheet or customer portal, comma, semicolon or tab delimited. Use Import Questionnaire on the start screen or in the File menu, or drag the file in. Citebound finds the question and answer columns by their header names in the first row and adds an Answer column when the sheet has none. Save XLSX workbooks as CSV or TSV first.
2. Add evidence, read cited drafts
Add policy PDFs with selectable text, plain text and Markdown, many files at once. The import queue shows each file's progress and can be cancelled without losing the files already done. Each question is matched to specific passages, and every draft names the file and the page or paragraph it quotes.
3. Approve and export
Approval runs the citation check again on the final wording. Export writes a new file in the delimiter the questionnaire arrived with, keeps answers you imported or typed, leaves unapproved Citebound drafts out, and adds a status column and an evidence column. The file you imported is never changed.
One click loads a sample questionnaire, two sample policies and their cited drafts. The demo stays in the sidebar marked DEMO and never uses up your free questionnaire.
When nothing in your library supports a question, Citebound writes no answer of its own and flags the row Needs Evidence. An answer that arrived with the questionnaire is left exactly as it was.
A draft, an approval or an export is refused when its quoted passage no longer matches your evidence word for word, when the answer states a number the passage does not contain, or when the answer's negation disagrees with the passage.
A rewrite can come from the Mac's built-in model (macOS 26 on supported Macs), a model server running on this Mac, or a cloud provider you connect with your own key after a consent prompt. A rewrite that fails the citation check is thrown away, and one that passes waits for your approval before it can reach an export.
Keep several questionnaires active at once. Reuse an approved answer from an earlier questionnaire only when its exact citations still resolve in the new one's evidence, then approve it again. Sync workspaces through your own private iCloud database, and choose which copy to keep when two Macs disagree.
