Your Mac's terminal and coding
agents, in your pocket.
Leave a coding agent running on your Mac, then watch it and answer its questions from iPhone or iPad over one encrypted link. No SSH keys, no port forwarding, no account.
Drive your machine.
Not a rented one.
private and peer-to-peerRemote dev today means renting a box in someone's cloud and trusting them with your code, or wrestling a VPN and SSH config that breaks the moment you change networks. Matadoor pairs once with a QR code, then your phone talks to the Mac you already own: directly when it can, through a relay that forwards only ciphertext when it cannot. Matadoor sends your code nowhere but the phone you paired, encrypted end to end, and nothing routes through us.
Your shell, not someone's cloud.
Cloud dev environments rent you a remote box and keep your code on their servers. Matadoor drives the Mac you already own. Phone and Mac share one QUIC link, device to device when they can reach each other and through a relay when a network blocks that. The relay forwards ciphertext it cannot read, and on the Mac you decide whose relay it is: n0's public relays by default, one you run yourself, or none at all.
Scan, then approve on the Mac.
The pairing QR carries the host's endpoint identity and an X25519 key, and the Mac must approve each device before a session starts. Its prompt names the newcomer Matadoor on iPhone or Matadoor on iPad. Every byte rides QUIC with TLS 1.3, authenticated by the peer's endpoint id, and each message is sealed again with ChaCha20-Poly1305 under the pairing key.
Leave the agent running. Answer it from the couch.
Start one of the four supported command-line coding agents installed on your Mac, or open a full PTY terminal. The agent runs on your machine, as you. When it stops on a yes-or-no question, Approve and Deny sit right under the output, and while Matadoor is open a banner tells you the moment an agent needs input or finishes.
Pair. Run. Roam.
pair once, run anywhereScan a QR, approve
on the Mac.
Install the free Matadoor Host on a Mac with Apple silicon, open its menu-bar popover, and scan the pairing QR with Matadoor. The Mac asks you to approve the device, and nothing runs until you say yes. No Mac nearby yet? Try Demo Session runs a simulated terminal, an agent that asks for approval, and sample system, file and git panels, all on the device.

Terminals and
agents, live.
Open a full PTY, or start whichever of the supported coding agents are installed on your Mac. Type, read output, and approve or deny an agent's question from your phone. On iPad, your sessions sit in a sidebar next to a full-size terminal, in any orientation.

Same Wi-Fi or
across town.
On the same network the link runs device to device. Across the internet it punches through NATs, with a relay carrying only ciphertext when no direct path exists. Leave the app and iOS suspends the link: your sessions keep running on the Mac, Matadoor Host alerts you there, and reopening Matadoor reconnects.

One link, end to end.
peer-to-peer, end to endAgents, answered.
Launch the command-line coding agents installed on your Mac, watch their output scroll, and settle the question one is waiting on with a single Approve or Deny.
A real PTY terminal.
A full terminal emulator wired to your Mac's shell, not a chat window. Esc, Tab, Ctrl-C and the arrow keys are one tap away, and you can search a session's transcript without touching what is running.
The Mac, inspected.
Three panels read the paired Mac directly: live load, memory, uptime and listening ports; a file browser with previews; and git working-tree status with recent commits.
One link, your relay.
The QUIC link goes direct whenever it can and punches through NATs with relay help when it cannot. Relays only forward ciphertext. Keep n0's public relays, pin a relay you host, or go direct-only.
QR pairing, host-approved.
Scan the code in the Matadoor Host menu-bar popover and approve the phone on the Mac. Matadoor keeps the pairing in the iPhone or iPad Keychain and reconnects when you come back to the app.
Honest status.
While the app is open, banners flag an agent that needs input or finishes. Leave it and iOS closes the link; on iPhone, the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island mark your agent session Paused while Matadoor Host alerts you on the Mac.
Pay once. The Mac host is free.
app store · one-timeCloud dev platforms bill you monthly to rent a remote machine. Matadoor is a single purchase that drives the Mac you already own, and the Matadoor Host companion is a free download. Check the Mac first: the host needs Apple silicon and macOS 26, and the phone app needs iOS or iPadOS 26.
