Privacy policy.
The current policy is: Silo Systems collects nothing.
The short version
Silo Systems collects no data from Ohm Studio. None.
Silo Systems receives no analytics, usage telemetry, personal data, or crash reports from Ohm Studio. The app has no account registration, advertising IDs, fingerprinting, or crash-reporting SDK. Your projects and preferences are stored locally. Model downloads and optional cloud lyrics contact the providers described below.
Supported text-to-music generation runs on your Mac or iPad. Mac adapter training, stem separation, analysis, and local lyrics workflows stay on your Mac. Both platforms use on-device Apple frameworks and locally stored model assets. Silo Systems operates no hosted server and there is no Ohm Studio account. The one exception to on-device processing is the optional Bring Your Own Key mode described below, which is off until you enable it and sends data only to a provider you choose and pay for directly. It is currently available in the macOS app.
Acceptance of H3 and MiniMax-Music3 model terms on Mac is stored locally on your device. It is not sent to Silo Systems. Generation, production prompt assistance, mastering, measurements and export run locally. Mastering creates a separate processed take and preserves the original source. Production exports are written as 24-bit WAV or FLAC.
What we don't have, and therefore never see
Because Ohm Studio has no server-side component, the following do not exist anywhere in our infrastructure (and our infrastructure consists of: nothing):
- Your name, email, phone, or address.
- Your IP address, device identifier, MAC address, or any other hardware fingerprint.
- Your prompts, lyrics, generated audio, reference audio, training datasets, trained LoRA adapters, or any other content you produce in the app.
- The contents of your Documents, Downloads, Desktop, or any other folder.
- Session timing, feature usage, button clicks, or any other behavioural data.
- Crash reports. Ohm Studio does not implement a crash-reporting SDK.
We never see any of this because none of it is sent to Silo Systems.
Outbound traffic you initiate
Three classes of outbound network traffic can originate from your device while Ohm Studio is running with its default settings. None of them go to Ohm Studio. All of them are user-initiated. A fourth class — Bring Your Own Key requests, which do include the text you send — exists only if you enable it, and is described in the next section:
- Model setup and catalog refresh. The first time you choose to install a model, the app downloads the relevant checkpoint from one of the public model hosts listed under Third-party services below. On iPad, the supported ACE-Step 1.5 assets come from a pinned Hugging Face revision. No Silo account is required, and the app verifies required assets before making them available. On Mac, H3 and optional MiniMax-Music3 each use a pinned Hugging Face revision, with exact file sizes and integrity checks. These downloads contain model data; executable code and Metal shaders ship inside the app. Prompts and generated audio are not sent with model downloads. On Mac, choosing Refresh in the model manager also requests the public model catalog.
- App Store updates. When Apple ships an Ohm Studio update, the App Store delivers it. This traffic is between your device and Apple's servers, governed by Apple's privacy policy. Ohm Studio is not involved.
- Links you click. If you click an external link inside the app (for example, opening this privacy policy), your default browser handles the request. Ohm Studio is not involved.
Optional Bring Your Own Key (off by default)
This is the one path by which your content can leave your Mac, and it stays closed until you open it. If you enable cloud inference in Settings and supply your own API key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or OpenRouter), the content you process with that feature — the text you choose for cloud lyrics — is sent over the internet to the provider you selected, under your own account. What you send is then subject to that provider's privacy policy and data-retention practices, not ours. Your audio, datasets, and trained adapters are never part of these requests. This mode is currently available in the macOS app.
The Song Brief production assistant is separate from cloud lyrics. Its optional lyrics draft uses a local lyrics model you download to your Mac, and it does not consult your cloud-provider setting or send the production prompt off your Mac.
Turning it on requires an explicit in-app confirmation, Ohm Studio shows a persistent cloud badge whenever a cloud provider is active, and you can return to on-device processing at any time. Nothing is ever sent to Silo Systems. We never see your content or your key, and we run no server, proxy, or relay in this path — traffic goes directly from your Mac to the provider you configured. Your key is stored only in the macOS Keychain on this Mac, never in a file, a database, or a log. You can also point Ohm Studio at Ollama running on your own machine, in which case nothing leaves your network at all.
On-device data you create
The audio you generate, the datasets you assemble, the adapters you train, and the lyrics you draft live in the app's local storage. On Mac, the default backend library is under Library/Application Support/OhmStudio/BackendData inside the app's sandbox container. Preferences are also stored locally, and you can explicitly choose additional folders. They are yours. We do not have access to them. Deleting Ohm Studio removes the app; your work remains under its container until you delete it manually.
Children's privacy
Ohm Studio is rated 4+ on the App Store. Because Silo Systems collects no personal data from any user, no special treatment is required for users under 13. Same policy applies regardless of age: Silo Systems collects nothing.
Third-party services
The processing components below run locally. The public model hosts listed below are contacted for downloads you approve and model catalog refreshes you request. They can receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address. On Mac, ACE-Step and lyrics model downloads try modelscope.cn first, and catalog refreshes also query it. Each request to modelscope.cn carries your macOS version, processor type, software version numbers (including Python), and a random identifier that its download library stores on your Mac and reuses. That downloader also makes a brief cloud-region check that carries none of your content. Your music prompts and audio are not part of model downloads:
- ACE-Step 1.5 (open-weights music model, MIT): runs locally.
- MiniMax H3: a Mac model that runs locally after separate, consent-gated setup on qualified hardware.
- MiniMax-Music3: an optional Mac model with the same local, consent-gated setup on qualified hardware.
- MLX (Apple's array framework): runs locally.
- librosa (audio analysis): runs locally.
- Ultimate Vocal Remover models (stem separation): runs locally.
- Public model hosts: Hugging Face (huggingface.co and its hf.co download servers) on iPad and Mac. On Mac only: ModelScope (modelscope.cn, which checks modelscope.ai when a model is missing there) for ACE-Step, the lyrics model and the catalog, and GitHub (github.com, githubusercontent.com) and dl.fbaipublicfiles.com for stem-separation models. Each is contacted only when you choose to download a model or refresh the Mac catalog. What ModelScope requests carry is described above. iPad setup uses the pinned Hugging Face revision shown before transfer.
Changes
If we ever materially change how Ohm Studio handles data (for example, if a future version of the app begins to collect anything at all) we will publish an updated version of this page, announce the change prominently in the release notes, and require explicit consent in-app before any new collection begins. The effective date at the top of this document reflects the current policy.
The current policy is: Silo Systems collects nothing.
