Privacy policy.

The current policy is: nothing is collected.

The short version

Ohm Split collects no data. None.

No analytics. No telemetry. No account. No personal data. No usage metrics. No error beacons. No advertising IDs. No fingerprinting. No crash reports. Ohm Split collects no data about you, your device, or your activity, and sends none of it to Silo Systems.

This policy covers Ohm Split on Mac, iPhone and iPad. Everything the app does (separation, preview, mixing and export) runs on your own device, using a separation model stored on that device. Silo Systems runs no server for Ohm Split, and there is no Ohm Split account. Apart from App Store updates and purchase-receipt checks, which Apple handles, the only outbound traffic is the model download you start and the other requests you initiate, all listed below.

What we don't have, and therefore never see

Because Ohm Split has no server-side component, none of the following exists anywhere in our infrastructure:

  • Your name, email, phone, or address.
  • Your IP address, device identifier, MAC address, or any other hardware fingerprint.
  • The audio you drop in, the stems Ohm Split separates, or any file you export or share.
  • The contents of your Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Files, or any other folder.
  • Session timing, feature usage, button clicks, or any other behavioural data.
  • Crash reports. Ohm Split does not include a crash-reporting SDK.

We never see any of this because Ohm Split never sends any of it to us. The app does not phone home.

Inside the app

Ohm Split's interface talks to its own separation engine over a loopback connection on the same device, protected by a key that is created fresh at each launch. That connection never leaves your Mac, iPhone or iPad, and requests without that key are refused.

Outbound traffic you initiate

Three classes of outbound network traffic can originate from your device while Ohm Split is running. None of them go to Silo Systems. Apart from App Store updates, which Apple delivers, all of them are started by you:

  1. The separation model. The model is not part of the app download. Before your first split you install it from the Separate screen; the app shows its size before it starts, and you can cancel. On Mac the files come from public release pages on github.com (served from githubusercontent.com) and from dl.fbaipublicfiles.com. On iPhone and iPad they come from a pinned revision on huggingface.co. The download is anonymous: no token, account, or registration is involved. Like any download, those hosts see your IP address and which file is requested; nothing about your audio or your use of the app is sent. Separating a track never starts a download on its own. Once the model is installed, every split is fully offline.
  2. App Store updates. When Apple ships an Ohm Split update, the App Store delivers it. That traffic is between your device and Apple's servers, governed by Apple's privacy policy. Ohm Split is not involved.
  3. Links you click. If you open an external link from the app, such as the App Store page the Mac Send to menu offers when the receiving app is not installed, your default browser or the App Store handles the request. Ohm Split is not involved.

On Mac, sending a stem to another app writes the file on your Mac and opens that app on it. Nothing is uploaded.

On-device data you create

The track you import, the stems Ohm Split separates, the installed model, and your preferences live inside the app's own sandboxed container, plus any folder you explicitly choose to export to. On Mac that container is ~/Library/Containers/com.silosystems.ohmsplit/Data/Library/Application Support/OhmSplit/. They are yours, and we have no access to them. On Mac, deleting the app leaves that container in place until you remove it yourself. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app deletes its data with it.

Children's privacy

Because no personal data is collected from anyone, no special treatment is required for users under 13. The same policy applies regardless of age: nothing collected.

Third-party services

Ohm Split contacts these public services only while you install the separation model. Beyond the ordinary download request, none of them receive any data about you or your audio from Ohm Split:

  • github.com and dl.fbaipublicfiles.com: Mac model files, fetched once when you install a model.
  • huggingface.co: iPhone and iPad model files, fetched once when you install the model.

The separation itself runs locally, inside the app, on your device.

Changes

If we ever materially change how Ohm Split handles data (for example, if a future version ever begins to collect anything at all), we will publish an updated version of this page, announce the change prominently in the release notes, and require explicit consent in the app before any new collection begins. The dates at the top and bottom of this page reflect the current policy.

The current policy is: nothing is collected.
