Evidence, stated honestly.
identity · coverage · privacyThe app keeps records retrievable. It does not turn those records into legal conclusions.
No. It records whether source, license, purchase, and project-use evidence is documented or missing. A hash identifies exact bytes and an attachment preserves a document; neither establishes ownership, interprets a license, guarantees permission, or prevents a claim.
Ohms Proof copies only the audio and documents you select into its private app container, then re-hashes each copy before accepting it. Your external originals are never moved, renamed, or changed. Removing a record removes its app-managed copies, not the originals you imported, and its export receipts stay in Export history so packets you already sent can still be checked.
Each imported audio file receives a SHA-256 digest plus its original filename, byte size, duration, sample rate, channel count, and format. If a single byte changes, for example after a bounce, trim, or edit, the digest changes too. Adding audio that is already in your library is refused, and Ohms Proof names the record that holds it.
Use the search field in the toolbar. It matches titles, providers, source references, notes, filenames, and project names. Type six or more characters of a SHA-256 and it matches any sample or document whose hash starts with them.
An audio folder and an evidence folder holding verified copies of the record's files, a README.md, a Summary.pdf set as real text so its hashes can be selected and searched, and a manifest.json listing the role, size, and SHA-256 of every file along with the record, its generated-on time, and the product's non-legal disclaimer. Before an export reports success, every copied file is re-hashed against the manifest; if anything does not match, the folder is removed.
Choose Evidence > Verify Evidence Packet (Shift-Command-V), or Verify a packet in Export history, and pick the packet folder. Ohms Proof re-hashes every file against that packet's manifest.json and marks each one as matching, changed, missing, or not in the manifest. Nothing in the folder is changed. If this Mac made the packet, the manifest's own hash is also matched to its receipt in Export history, which shows the full hash with a Copy button. A match shows the bytes are the ones that were exported; it does not show who owns them or that a sample is cleared.
