Privacy policy.
The current policy is: nothing is collected.
The short version
Ohms Tune collects no data. None.
Silo Systems receives no recordings, backing tracks, audio features, take names, keeper choices, settings, or usage analytics from the app. Ohms Tune has no account, telemetry, advertising IDs, or app-operated crash reporting. Your recordings and settings are stored locally on your Mac.
Pitch correction, diatonic harmony, backing-track playback, recording, and encoding run on your Mac. Ohms Tune uses no machine-learning model. There is no cloud component, server, or Ohms Tune account.
What we don't have, and therefore never see
The app sends no audio, content, identifiers, session history, or diagnostics to Silo Systems. If you separately email support, the message and any files you choose to attach are information you send through your email provider, not background collection by the app.
A native app, without a local server
The interface is native SwiftUI, and audio processing runs inside the app using Apple audio frameworks. Ohms Tune has no web backend or local listening port, and its App Store sandbox entitlements do not permit app-initiated network connections.
Downloads and links
Ohms Tune does not download model weights, and it bundles none. Its processing works offline after installation, and the app itself opens no network connections. If you choose Share take, macOS and the service you pick (such as AirDrop, Mail, or Messages) send that take where you direct it; Silo Systems receives nothing. These separate system services may also use a connection:
- App Store installation and updates. Apple delivers the app and its updates through the App Store, subject to Apple's privacy practices. After a saved take the app may also show Apple's standard rating prompt; any rating or review you choose to submit is sent to Apple through the App Store, and the app itself sends nothing to Silo Systems.
- Links you click. If you click an external link inside the app, your default browser handles the request. Ohms Tune is not involved.
Permissions we request, and why
- Microphone. Capture your vocal input for real-time pitch correction and harmony.
- Files you choose. Read only the audio file you pick to sing over, through the macOS file picker. The app makes its own playback copy and never changes the original.
Recording starts only when you choose Start singing (or press Space) and grant microphone permission. Ohms Tune does not request Camera, Contacts, Location, or Full Disk Access. It can access its bundled resources and its own sandbox storage without asking for access to unrelated files.
On-device data you create
Recordings are saved in Documents/OhmTune Takes within the app's sandbox; the folder keeps the app's earlier spelling so existing takes stay where they are. Take names and your keeper choice stay local, and settings use local macOS preferences. A backing track you import is copied into the app's own temporary folder for playback, and removing it deletes only that copy. Takes you share or save elsewhere live wherever you put them. Removing the app does not automatically remove those files; you control them in Finder.
On-device components
These components process audio locally; they are not remote services:
- The app's own pitch and key detection. Swift code inside Ohms Tune measures the pitch you sing and works out the key.
- Apple audio frameworks. They shift pitch for correction and harmony, play the backing track, record, and encode each take as AAC.
Children's privacy
Ohms Tune is rated 4+. Because no personal data is collected from any user, no special treatment is required for users under 13. Same policy applies regardless of age: nothing collected.
Changes
If we ever materially change how Ohms Tune handles data, we will publish an updated version of this page, announce the change prominently in the release notes, and require explicit consent in-app before any new collection begins. The current policy is: nothing is collected.
